Raphael Falconry We are the only professional historical falconers in the UK... ...and have been working as such since 1998. We specialise in the late 15th Century, a popular era of history and the golden age for the art of falconry itself. The other period we offer is the early Middle Ages (C11th) from the time of the Norman invasion. Our performances tell the story of the history of falconry from antiquity to the modern day. Whatever the period, our shows are historically accurate, educational and extremely entertaining! We are a husband and wife team who never sub-contract to other falconers. Our work is practiced to the highest standards of historical authenticity. Every detail from clothing and equipment, to furnishings and species of birds is accurately reproduced. We have a highly experienced team of 18 different birds of prey including various hawks, buzzards, falcons and owls, plus more than 20 years of falconry experience. Raphael Falconry is privately based in East Anglia but we travel all over the country to events. Most of our work is conducted at castles, stately homes and historic sites, but we also get involved in historical film work, corporate events and educational school visits. Apart from being skilled falconers, we are both great presenters and always produce a very polished and highly professional performance. We take our art very seriously which is why we dont wear tights, we dont stroke birds and we dont do modern flying displays!
